So let's see its solution.

VI Messages Not sent:

Text messages are one of the oldest forms of communication, but we still use them even today. Text messaging is a secure and reliable method for verification and communication, and it is usually used for OTP verification these days.

Even though the messaging features can work very well without a high-speed internet connection, sometimes they don't work properly. It is because of various reasons.

Sending texts can be a good way of communicating, and some people like it a lot. But, some errors can ruin our experience of sending text messages. So, to fix the issue of not being able to send a text message from VI (Vodafone, Idea) SIM, you can try the solutions listed below in the article.

Solutions to VI SMS not sending problem:

Let's look at some possible reasons why you cannot send SMSs.

1. By Doing A Top-up Recharge

It is the most common reason you fail to send SMS from VI SIM. Because of the low balance on your VI mobile number, you can face this problem. So, you must ensure to have a talk time balance on your mobile number. You can check that by dialing *199# from your mobile. If your balance is low, you may recharge for as little as Rs. 10.

So, you can solve this problem permanently. Just contact the VI Customer care service, as they will help you out with this. They might even ask you to do a minimum recharge of Rs. 79. It will activate the SMS service of your VI sim. You can recharge with some other amount as well. It will solve your problem if you have a low balance.

So the first thing that you should do is recharge your VI sim card. After recharging, you can check again if the messages are sending or not. If you still face the problem, then go for the next solution.

2. By Changing the SIM Preference

You can face this problem if you use two SIM cards on your phone. So, make sure to set up a VI sim card for messaging. If you have not done it already, set it now.

To know how to set it, you simply have to go to Settings > Sim cards & Mobile Networks > SMS Messages. Then, it will show you two SIM Cards, and you have to choose VI SIM.

Some mobiles might not give you this setting. You can open the messaging app from the mobile and set the VI SIM card from there.

After you do this, i.e., setting up your sim card preferences for messaging, you can check if your messages are sent or not. If the problem still isn't solved, you can try the next solution.

3. By Clearing the Cache of Messaging App

The cache is the temporary memory that helps the smartphone run faster. We can delete this cache memory, and it won't affect our smartphone. It might help the smartphone run smoother and solve your problems, which can be because of the slow performance of your smartphone.

You can clear the cache memory of messaging app by following the below steps:

First, open settings from your phone and open the ‘Apps' section.

Now look for the Messaging app and open its info.

Tap on 'Clear Data'. You will find a 'Clear Cache' icon, which you need to click.

After completing this step, check whether your problem is solved or not. Check whether you are now able to send it or not. If you are still not able to send the messages, then try the next solution.

4. By Force Stopping Your Messaging App

It is the same as clearing the Cache memory. It doesn't delete any necessary data or information. It also doesn't interrupt the functioning of your smartphone. It just stops the messaging app for a while and immediately restarts it.

You can follow the below steps to 'Force Stop' the Messaging app:

Open your mobile settings, go to the ‘Apps' section and find the messaging app from it.

Once you see the messaging app, open its info.

You will see a 'Force Stop' option. Just tap on it.

It will ask you to give confirmation. Confirm it.

Once you complete this step, go back to your messaging app and try to send the message. Check to see if your problem has been resolved. If it isn't, then you can try our next solution.

5. By Restarting the Smartphone

If your smartphone has some internal misconfiguration because of too much load, then the above two methods won't solve your problem. You need to restart your mobile, which will help you to clear the cache.

6. By Changing the VI SMS Center Number on iOS and Android

In a wireless network, an SMSC number is known for handling SMS operations. When someone sends an SMS from a smartphone, it first goes to an SMS center which then forwards the SMS message to the target.

So, if your SMSC number is not correct, then you will keep on receiving the notification of 'SMS not sent'. To solve this issue, you need to check whether your SMSC number is right or not. If it is wrong, you need to update it.

Different operating systems follow different procedures for checking the SMSC number. For both, an android device and an iOS device, you need to follow different steps which are given below:

Android:

From the keypad of your android mobile, dial *#*#4636#*#*, which will automatically open the ‘Testing’ settings. Now, if you use two SIM cards, choose the one that you are facing a problem with.

Now scroll to find the ‘SMSC’ option. When you find it, you need to type your network operator’s SMSC number in your area and update it. For example, a person from Jammu and Kashmir can type J&K’s SMSC number.

iOS:

On your iPhone's dialer app, enter *5005*7672*SMSCNUMBER# and hit call.

Replace SMSCNUMBER with the SMSC number for your network operator in your area.

Following that, the message "Setting interrogation succeeded, Service Center Address" will show on the screen, indicating that the setting has been successfully modified.

Once you complete the above procedure, make sure to check whether you are now able to send SMS or not. If the problem continues, check our last option to resolve it.

7. By Calling Customer Care:

If you tried all of the above methods and still your problem was not solved, then you need to call VI customer care.

In India, you can dial 199 for talking to the customer care executive.

Once, the customer care executives receive your call, you can explain your problem. They will surely help you in finding some solution.
