Step 1: Generate a Unique Porting Code (UPC) by initiating the porting request to Airtel. It can be done by simply sending an SMS from your current mobile number. Then type PORT <space> your 10-digit mobile number and send it to 1900. You will receive a code via SMS, which you need to save for further processing. 

Step 2: Visit the official website of Airtel or use their app and select any recharge plan you like. Also, you will need to fill out a form by providing your details, such as phone number, address, email, etc. 

Step 3: Tap on 'submit', once you complete the form. 

Step 4: After this, you will receive a call from the Airtel executive, who will inform you when your new Airtel SIM will be delivered. 

Step 5: Once the Airtel executive comes to deliver the SIM, he/she will ask you to show some address or identity proof and the UPC you received via SMS. 

Step 6: Your new Airtel SIM will be activated 48 hours after you receive it. 

How to Transfer BSNL to Airtel Offline

Step 1: Go to the nearest Airtel store, and don't forget to carry all the necessary documents we discussed above. 

Step 2: In offline mode also, you have to generate the Unique Porting Code (UPC) by sending 'PORT <space> your 10-digit mobile number to 1900. You will receive the UPC via SMS. 

Step 3: On the offline store, you need to provide them with the details like an alternative number, email, address, UPC, and the OTP that you will receive at that moment. 

Step 4: After completing the document verification and formalities, you will have to select an initial recharge plan of your choice and pay for it. 

Step 5: They will give you the new Airtel SIM, which will activate within 48 hours.


How To Un-Port Your SIM Card Phone Number

You can un-port your SIM card up to the time the porting process is complete. To do so, type CANCEL <space> your 10-digit mobile number and send it via an SMS to 1900. Use the same SIM to send this SMS you requested to port.
